While the Dallas Cowboys decide on whether they will make Dak Prescott one of the highest-paid quarterbacks in the NFL, there are people debating if he deserves it. An analyst recently explored if Prescott is a tier-one or tier-two quarterback.
“When they got Amari Cooper, he really ascended,” this evaluator said before the season. “Throw in the O-line, the running back, they add (Randall) Cobb in the slot, and I think (Tier) 2 could be the low number. I could see them winning 12 or 13 games and having people come back next year saying, ‘Oh, maybe he is closer to a 1.'”
Last year, the Cowboys were struggling offensively in the first eight games of the season. More specifically, Prescott looked out of sorts with the arsenal of weapons he had (or didn't have). In those eight contests, the Cowboys quarterback had just 1,660 yards, 10 touchdowns, and five interceptions.
Due to the lack of receiving threats on the roster, Dallas decided to trade for Amari Cooper. With Cooper in the lineup, Prescott appeared to be a completely different player under center.

After getting his first playoff win in 2018, some analysts have begun to speak about Prescott as an up and coming quarterback in the NFL. Through two weeks this season, it's hard to argue with his improvement as a passer.
With Kellen Moore as his offensive coordinator, Prescott has combined for 674 yards, seven touchdowns, and an interception in two games. The discussion on Prescott as one of the NFL's best quarterbacks will likely be persistent, as long as he continues to perform at a high level.
