After much speculation and rumors over the past two years, the Dallas Cowboys finally pulled the trigger in signing Dak Prescott to a long-term deal. Prescott agreed to sign a four-year, $160 million deal on Monday, per ESPN.

The owner of the Dallas Cowboys, Jerry Jones, also seems excited about the deal as well. He had his own unique way of expressing his happiness on Wednesday, claiming, “he's proud that if it was anyone taking ‘advantage of him financially,' he's glad it's Dak Prescott,” per Ian Rapoport.

After suffering an injury in the fifth week of the regular season, it was questioned whether or not it'd be worth bringing back Dak Prescott from such a serious accident. However, his stats speak for themselves, as Prescott was on a tear before suffering from an ankle fracture-dislocation.

Through just five games, Prescott put up 1,856 passing yards, nine touchdowns, and a 68% completion percentage. He was on pace for nearly 6,000 passing yards and 30 touchdowns before having his season cut short.

For Cowboys fans, this is an exciting time. With playmakers like Amari Cooper, CeeDee Lamb, Ezekiel Elliott, and Michael Gallup, the Cowboys' offense should continue where it left off.

Signing Prescott now gives the front office the leisure to improve the defensive side of the ball, where the true problems lie. Look for Dallas to make a push for several defensive players this offseason, as they'll be aiming to reclaim the NFC East once again.

Luckily for them, the NFC East is one of the worst divisions in the league, however, the Washington Football Team has made some major improvements. Look for this division to be rather competitive next year with Dak Prescott back under center.
