Dak Prescott and the Dallas Cowboys were one of the top teams in the NFL just a few short seasons ago. It seems like just yesterday that rumors were flying about them potentially winning a championship in the next couple of years. Unfortunately, all of those whispers have completely died down.

Following last night's 28-14 loss at the hands of the Tennessee Titans, the Cowboys hold a 3-5 record. They are nowhere near being a Super Bowl contender and have a lot of work to do to get themselves back on track.

After the loss to the Titans, Prescott made it clear in a quote shared by the Cowboys' official website that he knows the team getting better will all start with him improving.

“We’ve got to do better and it starts with me. It starts with me first all the way.”

Many fans in Dallas have begun getting fed up with their team this season. Prescott has received a lot of harsh criticism this season, but team owner Jerry Jones once again threw support at his quarterback after the game.

“Tonight’s game did not – did not, I emphasize – impact my future look at Dak Prescott. Not tonight.”

Throughout the first eight games of the 2018 season, Prescott has completed 62.9 percent of his pass attempts for 1,660 yards, 10 touchdowns, and five interceptions. He has also rushed for 247 yards and two touchdowns on the season.

At just 25 years old, Prescott is still a young quarterback that is learning things. Dallas would be foolish to panic and hurt his confidence by benching him.

Prescott is the future of the Cowboys' future at quarterback, whether fans are happy about it or not. He is not going anywhere and the team will continue supporting him and trying to help him develop.
