High expectations were set on the revamped Dallas Cowboys to reign supreme on the NFC East division once again. The team's stacked roster has yet to fit the bill and find its groove as the Cowboys lost on a tight 38-31 encounter against the Seattle Seahawks.
Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott said that the Cowboys only have themselves to blame for the rough start.
“Looking at it the last three weeks, we're only stopping ourselves,” he said. “We have to get out of our own way, be cleaner with the ball, play smarter football and find a way to start faster. Our coaches and these players are going to go back and figure out a way to get this thing right and clean it up.”
In Week 1, the Cowboys didn't score a single point in the fourth quarter in their nail-biting loss to the Los Angeles Rams. Dallas repeated the same mistake as they allowed the Seahawks to advance without any resistance in the fourth quarter of the game after taking a 31-30 lead.
Prescott also had miscues of his own as he committed a costly turnover on the team's final drive. Their unforced errors could have changed the outcome of the game for the Cowboys. Their most recent loss dropped the team to a 1-2 record to start the season.
America's team will have to fix their internal issues first in order to reach the maximum potential of their loaded lineup. They will be faced with another tough test as they host the Cleveland Browns in a Week 4 matchup on October 4.
