Since losing top cornerback Byron Jones earlier in the offseason, the Dallas Cowboys have been making moves to replace his impact in the defensive backfield.

Now, it appears that even after the NFL draft, the Cowboys are still adding talent, as former Las Vegas Raiders cornerback Daryl Worley announced on Twitter on Tuesday that he would be signing with Dallas.

Daryl Worley, a 2016 third-round pick out of West Virginia, spent his first two seasons with the Carolina Panthers. In 2018, Worley signed with the Raiders where he has been a starting cornerback for the last two seasons.

In 2019, the 6-foot-1, 215-pound corner recorded 58 total tackles, eight passes defended and one interception in 15 starts.

Other than Worley, the Cowboys have signed former New York Jets corner Maurice Canady and second-year pro Saivion Smith. The team has also brought in former Pro Bowl safety Ha Ha Clinton-Dix after starting safety Jeff Heath signed with the Raiders.

The Cowboys also retooled their defensive backfield in this year's draft by selecting Alabama cornerback Trevon Diggs in the second round and Tulsa CB Reggie Robinson II in the fourth.

Last season, the Cowboys ranked 10th in the NFL in passing yards allowed per game and eighth in passing touchdowns allowed. However, they were tied for the worst mark in the league when it came to total interceptions.

New Defensive Coordinator Mike Nolan will have to overcome the loss of Jones, who signed a big, five-year deal with the Miami Dolphins this offseason. However, the addition of an experienced starter like Worley should make things easier for the Dallas defense in 2020.
