There is more to the matter than what is publicly known at this point, but Irving looks poised to move on from the entire ordeal to focus on getting back onto the field when he's eligible to do so. He has a chance to put himself in the position to earn a lucrative multi-year deal if he puts together a strong 2018 campaign in the final 12 games of the regular season.

The 24-year-old had shown plenty of promise in his limited time on the field this past season posting 7.0 sacks in eight games played. At the time of the concussion last season, he was leading all defensive tackles in sacks that could have seen him notch double-digit sacks. He possesses the promising ability it's just a matter of him avoiding getting into these type of situations where the league has to take action by suspending him for any length of time.

Dallas has shown that they are willing to take a flyer on his talent by placing a second-round tender on him earlier this offseason after he became a restricted free agent. It all now falls on his shoulders to prove that he can be a long-term piece of the puzzle on the defensive front by forming a dependable pass-rush duo alongside Pro Bowl defensive end DeMarcus Lawrence.
