Tides have recently shifted over in Dallas as Cowboys' owner Jerry Jones has reportedly softened his stance on players kneeling during the playing of the U.S. national anthem before games.
The multi-billionaire personality took the time to acknowledge the racism issues and systematic oppression happening in American society. He eventually took into consideration the diversity of opinions among the Cowboys players and changed his stance in order to show unity towards the pressing matter. This came several days before their opening game against the Los Angeles Rams on September 13.
“If our players are there, they are sensitive to and respect what America is as it relates to the flag. I’ll assure you that. I’d hope that our fans — and I think they will — understand that our players have issues that they need help on. They need help from the majority of America. And we want to be an agent of that.” he stated.
On Thursday, Cowboys defensive lineman Tyrone Crawford said players received a “green light” to show solidarity over issues of racial injustice following the death of George Floyd and shooting of Jacob Blake.
The development eventually caught the attention of Eric Trump, son of President Donald Trump, to which he posted a reply on Twitter:

Other players of the Dallas Cowboys team were also vocal in making their own changes regarding the pressing situation as well. A day earlier, quarterback Dak Prescott took time to recognize the role athletes are playing in America’s race discussion.
“It’s about how do we help,” Prescott said Wednesday. “How do we help one another? How do we help one another feel safe?”
The developments over in Dallas are a good sign that more people are realizing the importance of the matter, especially in today's society. A huge step was taken in the right direction that will ultimately help change the narrative and spark hope for the people moving forward.
