The Dallas Cowboys have some crucial decisions to make this offseason, and it appears team owner Jerry Jones has given some insight on what they plan to address.

It is no secret that Dallas had some issues in their secondary. According to ESPN's Todd Archer, Jones admits that the safety position is among their top priorities:

This will make the folks hoping the Cowboys make a play for free-agent safety Earl Thomas when the market opens in March. When asked if he could foresee any talks about the safety position, owner and general manager Jerry Jones simply said, “Yes. That’s about all I’ll say, but yes.”

There is no question that the Cowboys have a busy offseason ahead of them. Defensive end DeMarcus Lawrence is due for a lucrative extension this offseason.

Meanwhile, quarterback Dak Prescott and running back Ezekiel Elliott are also hoping to receive their payday in the near future. This will leave little room to potentially take on another massive contract.

However, it seems Jones is looking to make it happen in order to fortify the secondary moving forward.

The first name that comes to mind is Seattle Seahawks safety Earl Thomas. There had been rumors for quite some time now about the mutual interest between Thomas and the Cowboys.

Recent reports about the All-Pro moving to Texas has only added more fuel to the flames. Dallas already boasts a number of notable playmakers on defense.

The addition of Thomas would undoubtedly take this group to the next level.
