Former Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Dez Bryant is finally making progress toward a comeback. After years as a staple of the Cowboys offense, Bryant was forced to become a free agent en route to becoming a member of the New Orleans Saints, though his time in the bayou was ultimately short lived due to injury.

Only a few days into his Saints tenure, Bryant, unfortunately, suffered a torn Achilles tendon while failing to ever suit up for the NFC South franchise during a regulation game.

“I have to [play again]. I got business and I got ball,” Bryant previously told the Fort Worth Star-Telegram back in December. “I can’t end like this. I have to throw the X up.”

Although it is highly unlikely that Bryant will ever play for the Cowboys again, especially since Dallas has acquired former Oakland Raiders wide receiver Amari Cooper in his absence, the veteran pass catcher will always be a fan of the NFC East franchise even after finding his next NFL home.

“I’m going to always love the Cowboys,” Bryant previously told the Fort Worth Star-Telegram. “I’m going to always love Jerry Jones. I’m going to always love those players in that locker room.”

Spending eight seasons as a member of the heralded Cowboys after making his way to Dallas by way of Oklahoma State, Bryant has hauled in 531 career receptions for just under 7,500 receiving yards and 73 touchdowns. During his time as an NFL wide receiver, the seasoned pass catcher has averaged an even 14 yards per reception.
