The Dallas Cowboys recently made a deal ahead of the NFL trade deadline to address a need at the wide receiver position. America's Team acquired Alabama product Amari Cooper from the Oakland Raiders in exchange for a first-round draft pick.

Although the Cowboys received a lot of criticism for giving up their pick for Cooper, the move is already starting to pay dividends. Only minutes into his debut for the Cowboys, the former Raiders Pro Bowler scored his first touchdown with a star on his helmet sparking a reaction from his former teammate and currently Chicago Bears star, Khalil Mack.

Before the 2018 NFL season got underway for the Raiders, Oakland decided to trade Mack to the Bears in exchange for a sizable return. The Raiders got two first-round picks and a sixth-round pick for the superstar defensive end. This move was also criticized because the team didn't want to pay him and were willing to part with arguably one of the best defensive players in the game.

As for the Cowboys, Jerry Jones and company have been looking for Dez Bryant's replacement since the team released the veteran wide receiver back in April. Allen Hurns, who also scored a touchdown in the first half against the Tennessee Titans, was the notable free agent addition at the position but hasn't made the impact that was expected.

Along with making an impact right away during his first game for the Cowboys, the team has reportedly started working on a contract extension with the 24-year-old wideout. It appears the team is ready to make him the go-to guy downfield and a vital part of a new trio including Dak Prescott and Ezekiel Elliott.
