With Tony Romo still recovering from his broken back, Dak Prescott will have at least one more game to prove that he should remain the starting quarterback of the Dallas Cowboys.

Earlier this week, it was reported that Romo won't return to practice for at least another week. However, the Cowboys are in their bye currently. If Tony returns to the practice field next Monday, he'd have a week to prepare for his return.

Perhaps the Cowboys don't to rush Romo back, or perhaps they want to keep Prescott in the driver's seat until he has a bad outing. Either way, Prescott will be Dallas' starting quarterback when they take on the Eagles in Week 8, according to the NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.

Rapoport also notes that Romo might not be ready to be considered for Week 9 either, when Dallas plays the lowly Cleveland Browns.

As you surely know, Prescott has impressed during his first six games in the NFL. The Cowboys sit at 5-1, coming off of a dominating victory over another NFC contender in the Packers. Prescott set a record for most passing attempts to start a career without throwing a pick, before finally doing so against Green Bay. He has amassed 1,486 passing yards and 10 total touchdowns (three rushing) for a team that primarily does its damage on the ground.

The Week 8 matchup with Philadelphia is an intriguing one, featuring two standout rookie QBs in Prescott and the Eagles' Carson Wentz.
