Some teams in the NFL won't be able to have fans attend their homes games in 2020 due to concerns with COVID-19. While it won't be able to replace the experience of actual fans, the Denver Broncos are the latest team to offer cardboard cutout purchases for fans.

This past month, the Broncos announced that fans will not be able to attend the team's home-opener versus the Tennessee Titans in Week 1. Even though Denver could have fans at some point in 2020, they are attempting to offset them to begin the season with cardboard versions of themselves.

The cost to get a cardboard cutout of yourself will cost $100 and the net proceeds will go to charities associated with the Broncos. In addition to that, there will be 1,000 purchasable cutouts and all purchases must be made by September 4.

Besides the Broncos, the Cincinnati Bengals were the first known NFL team to offer cutouts to fans. Therefore, Cincinnati fans won't be able to attend Joe Burrow's debut in the NFL this season.

But before NFL teams such as the Broncos began using cutouts as an alternative to fans, teams in the MLB began using the idea. On the other hand, NBA games have allowed fans to watch via video that is displayed during games.

The Broncos are considered a dark-horse contender in 2020 and fans were anxious to see Drew Lock in his second season with the team. While fans will have to wait to see their beloved team live, they can visibly be there in spirit by purchasing a cardboard cutout.
