The Denver Broncos are in need of a wide receiver, so you would think Robby Anderson would be near the top of their wish list this offseason.

But that doesn't appear to be the case.

According to Troy Renck of KMGH-TV, the Broncos have “little interest” in Anderson, who is scheduled to become a free agent next week.

Denver's apparent lack of interest in Anderson is peculiar, given the fact that the team has plenty of cap space and could really use a No. 2 wide out to put alongside of Courtland Sutton, who had a breakout year in 2019.

Anderson has spent the first four seasons of his career with the New York Jets and is coming off of a season in which he played every game and caught 52 passes for 779 yards and five touchdowns.

The 27-year-old, who played his collegiate football at Temple, went undrafted but eventually landed with the Jets in 2016.

He was a pleasant surprise during his rookie year, appearing in every contest and logging 42 catches for 587 yards and a couple of scores. The following season, Anderson broke out, hauling in 63 receptions for 941 yards while reaching the end zone seven times. The Teaneck, N.J. native then took a bit of a step back in 2018, snaring 50 balls for 752 yards and six touchdowns.

While Anderson has never posted a 1,000-yard campaign, he has also never had a great quarterback situation in New York, so perhaps he could flourish in another system (or maybe he will improve as Sam Darnold gets better, as Anderson has left the door open to a Jets return).
