The Denver Broncos seem to have finally found their quarterback, as they acquired Joe Flacco in a trade with the Baltimore Ravens on Wednesday in exchange for a fourth-round draft pick.
The Broncos will be sending the Ravens the better of their two fourth-round draft choices, as Mike Klis of 9 News reports that it is the first fourth-rounder Denver has. The pick is the Broncos' own, which will fall 11th in the round. Denver also owns the Houston Texans' fourth-round draft choice, which falls 23rd in the round.
Flacco is coming off of a season in which he played nine games and threw for 2,465 yards, 12 touchdowns, and six interceptions while completing 61.2 percent of his passes and registering a passer rating of 84.2.
The 34-year-old suffered a hip injury midway through the year before losing his job to rookie signal-caller Lamar Jackson, who proceeded to start the final seven games of the season and led the Ravens to an AFC North division title.
Article Continues BelowFlacco, who played his collegiate football at the University of Delaware, was originally selected by Baltimore in the first round (18th pick overall) of the 2008 NFL Draft.
He was immediately named the Ravens' starting quarterback during his rookie campaign, starting all 16 games and throwing for 2,971 yards, 14 touchdowns, and 12 picks.
The highlight of Flacco's 11-year tenure in Baltimore came during the 2012-13 campaign, when the Voorhees, N.J. native led the Ravens to a Super Bowl title in a legendary playoff run in which he threw 11 touchdown passes and no interceptions for the franchise.
