The Denver Broncos mounted a tremendous come-from-behind victory against the Los Angeles Chargers on Sunday, and as it turns out, it had a lot to do with quarterback Drew Lock delivering an inspiring halftime speech.

After the game, Lock opened up about his message to his teammates during the break. According to the 23-year-old QB, he just had to be completely honest with them:

“I just got up in front of the offense and said, ‘Listen, it’s so easy for us to come in here and yell and scream and get mad about what we’re doing bad, but we just need to man up, and when the plays come our way, we need to make them, myself included. I’m not yelling at y’all, I’m obviously talking to myself right now, screaming to myself right now,'” Lock said, via Jeff Legwold of ESPN.com. “And that’s exactly what we did.”

The Broncos were down 14-3 at the half and were in danger of suffering back-to-back losses following their 43-16 defeat against the Kansas City Chiefs last week. Denver was actually staring at an even bigger deficit in the third, going down 24-3. The Broncos had a huge fourth quarter, though, scoring three touchdowns to come away with a very impressive 31-30 victory at the buzzer.

For his part, Lock completed 26-of-41 passes for 248 yards while also logging three touchdowns and one interception. This was a huge bounce-back performance for the second-year QB, who had been without a TD pass since Week 1 before this explosion.
