The Denver Broncos bounced back in a major way on Thursday night with a convincing 45-10 win over the Arizona Cardinals.
However, it was a contest that had its fair share of drawbacks with one of them being a high ankle sprain to rookie running back Royce Freeman, according to Mike Klis of 9 Sports.

Although this is a setback, the Broncos are confident that this isn't a serious ailment that could cost him any significant time as head coach Vance Joseph has deemed him to have a day-to-day status that could largely be due to the fact that the team has an extended period to prepare for their Week 8 action on the road against the Kansas City Chiefs.
Freeman has proven to be an effective part of their rookie tandem in the backfield alongside Phillip Lindsay that has been one of the league's top rushing attacks. He has piled up 309 yards on 74 carries along with four touchdowns while also hauling in four catches for 21 receiving yards. This injury could put a bit of a damper on his availability for the next game as the team may look to take the cautious approach with the situation given that he's dealing with an ankle injury that could linger on if not handled properly.
If he were to miss any time, it could mean a more significant workload for Lindsay as he has proven to be one of the most pleasant surprises this season currently being seventh in the NFL with 436 rushing yards and two touchdowns while recording 15 catches for 119 receiving yards and a touchdown. He is coming off a solid outing against Arizona where he rushed for 90 yards on 14 carries and a touchdown.
