Todd Davis was expected to be relied upon at inside linebacker for the Denver Broncos again in 2020. But the veteran linebacker could be set to miss some time. During Thursday's practice, Davis went down with an injury and needed help getting off of the field, per The Athletic's Lindsay Jones.

Seeing that it was a leg injury and that he was carted off, some Broncos fans are having deja vu from a season ago. Last offseason, early in training camp, Davis sustained a leg injury that kept him out until Week 3 of the 2019 season.
However, this time around, it remains to be seen how severe the injury is and if Davis will be forced to be sidelined for the Broncos. According to the NFL Network's James Palmer reported that Denver is also dealing with injuries to rookie K.J. Hamler, Von Miller, and Melvin Gordon.

Entering the 2020 campaign, the Broncos were confident in the inside linebacker duo of Davis and Alexander Johnson. Davis is beginning his sixth full season with Denver. Despite missing two games in 2019, Davis accounted for a career-best 134 tackles and one pass breakup.
If Davis is forced to miss time, Josey Jewell could be thrust into a starting role to begin the season. Jewell was a fourth-round pick of the Broncos in the 2018 NFL Draft out of Iowa. He has started in 12 games for Denver in his first two seasons, tallying 96 tackles in the process.
With Week 1 just a few weeks away, teams around the NFL are hoping to avoid the injury bug in training camp. While the Broncos await the news on Davis, hopefully it isn't something serious.
