The Broncos struggled to get their offense going in week eight against the LA Chargers. It was a pleasant surprise to see running back Philip Lindsay step into the role as the offensive sparkplug.
Lindsay has only had 39 carries for 204 yards entering Week 8, and has been battling injuries since Week 1 for the Broncos.
Lindsay's 55-yard TD run marks his longest run of the year, and first touchdown of 2020 for the Broncos. It's a great sign to see from someone recovering from multiple concussions.
There goes Phillip Lindsay. 55 yards for the touchdown! #BroncosCountry @I_CU_Boy

This may be the offensive spark the Broncos need to finally get something going.
Lindsay is coming off back to back 1,000-yard rushing seasons for the Broncos, and many questioned whether or not he had lost the job to Gordon during his absence.
Gordon has been stellar this season, one of the few bright spots in that offense. The two-time probowler has 349 yards and 4 TD's rushing on 82 carries this year thus far. Gordon's ability to catch out of the backfield has been a major bonus for this struggling Broncos offense.
Article Continues BelowThis play, however, could restore balance to the Philip Lindsay era in Denver. Lindsay was never really playing badly this season for the Broncos; he averages a full yard more per carry than Gordon. It's likely that these two will split carries from now on.
The Broncos have been rather disappointing this season and are hoping to turn it around before it's too late. They have upcoming games against the Falcons (2-6), Raiders (4-3) twice, and the Panthers (3-5).
It's not the easiest schedule in the world, but production from Philip Lindsay would definitely help.
