The Miami Dolphins are looking to make some roster changes after a disappointing 2017 campaign. Among those who could be on the chopping block is Ndamukong Suh. Although he is still considered one of the best interior lineman in the league, his $26.1 million cap hit for next season seems to be a bit too steep for Miami.
As a result, the defensive tackle could be released in the coming week, according to Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald:
One NFL official who spoke to the Dolphins said they did not rule out releasing Ndamukong Suh, which jibes with Armando Salguero’s report last month. (The Dolphins, per the source, didn’t portray it as likely or unlikely but merely an option under consideration.)
Suh is the second big name that the Dolphins will reportedly be parting ways with. They have placed the franchise tag on wide receiver Jarvis Landry with the intention of trading him in the offseason. Now it seems Suh could also be on his way out of Miami.

Miami had signed Suh to a monster six-year, $114 million contract prior to the 2016 NFL season, which made him the highest-paid defensive player in NFL history.
Although Ndamukong Suh is still one of the best at his position, his recent performance hardly merits such a prodigious income, especially given the current state of the Dolphins franchise. However, he should still garner plenty of interest from teams for the right price, of course. The five-time Pro Bowler is coming off arguably the worst season of his career after registering 47 tackles and 3.5 sacks in 12 games.
