Following a huge win over the Los Angeles Rams, the Philadelphia Eagles head into Week 15 with an opportunity to take a step closer to securing one of the top two seeds in the NFC playoff picture. If only talented tight Zach Ertz would be around to help Philly take that step.
Oh, about that.
The Eagles will have the services of tight end Zach Ertz, as head coach Doug Pederson stated on Wednesday that he has officially cleared the concussion protocol. By way of ESPN:
“He's good to go,” Pederson said.
Ertz had missed Week 14 action against the Rams due to the concussion that he suffered against the Seattle Seahawks the week prior. In his place, Trey Burton had the best performance of his season, recording five catches for 71 yards and a pair of touchdowns against Los Angeles. Brent Celek also hauled in a touchdown reception in last week's win.
The 27-year-old has put together a strong campaign with a team-leading 57 catches for 663 receiving yards along with a career-high seven touchdowns. He has notched seven games with at least five catches, highlighted by a season-high 10 catches for 103 receiving yards and a touchdown against the Chicago Bears in Week 12.
His return will provide another dependable receiving option for backup quarterback Nick Foles, who will be the starter for the rest of the season with Carson Wentz out with a torn ACL.
