In the last few weeks, New York Giants star wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. has had his future with the organization seemingly up in the air. Beyond his current contract situation, things have clouded with the constant trade rumors surrounding Beckham Jr.
It has only grown much louder around the franchise with the front office yet to publicly address the persistent chatter regarding the Pro Bowl wideout. However, Kimberly Jones of The NFL Network is reporting that Beckham Jr. is planning on being at the first day of workouts under new head coach Pat Shurmur on Monday.
As I said last night on @WFAN660, Odell Beckham Jr will be at #NYG tomorrow.

This was further clarified by Josina Anderson of ESPN stating that Beckham Jr. is going to ‘check in' to meet with some of the coaches and teammates before departing later that day. Although he will be on hand at the practice facility, it doesn't look like he will be participating in any manner
What should be noted is that he is still recovering from the ankle surgery and should be ready to go at some point this offseason. This move is likely to show his face around the team to display that he has interest in remaining with the franchise if both sides can work toward a contract extension.
The 25-year-old hasn't wavered in his desire to be with the Giants long-term well beyond the 2018 NFL season. It has simply been his continued questionable decision making that has pushed the team to consider possibly moving on from him. This could make it difficult for the front office to be willing to offer him a deal that could make him the highest-paid wide receiver in the league that would be around the $20 million a year that he is looking to land. It has simply become a fluid situation that could wind up going in many different ways over the next several months.
