Beyond the constant chatter that has surrounded the New York Giants stemming for their slow start out of the gate, there is a looming contract situation involving star wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr.
He has quickly emerged as one of the game's best wide receivers and playmakers that has put his long-term future in New York as one of the focal points. With that in mind, Denver Broncos All-Pro outside linebacker Von Miller voiced that he believes Beckham Jr. undoubtedly deserves to be the league's highest-paid player, according to Jordan Raanan of ESPN.

That’s just the type of player he is. It doesn’t matter if it’s quarterback, offensive line, receiver. It doesn’t matter. The type of impact that he has on the globe, the type of viewers that he brings — just him as a player. That makes up for him not playing quarterback. So, he’s a once-in-a-lifetime player. The 24-year-old is in the final year of his four-year, $10.4 million deal that already has the fifth year picked up for the 2018 season that is worth $8.4 million. His level of production certainly speaks for itself as he's the only player in league history to record 90-plus catches with at least 1,300 receiving yards, and 10 touchdowns in each of his first seasons.
Beckham Jr. is already the fastest player reach 250 receptions in just 38 games while also being the quickest to notch 4,000 receiving yards in only 42 games. His 38 touchdowns are the most in the league since he entered the league in the 2014 campaign. At the same time, he has also found himself in the middle of several situations on the field that have drawn much criticism for his behavior that bring up questions about his maturity level.
With the three-time Bowler out with a season-ending broken ankle injury, it could quickly show valuable he is to New York.
