Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers suffered their most embarrassing loss of the 2018 NFL season on Sunday, losing to the Arizona Cardinals at home. It was a loss that cost head coach Mike McCarthy his job. Now, there has been speculation that Rodgers could end up being shut down to protect his health.

According to Rodgers in a quote shared by Packers Wire, the superstar quarterback has no interest in sitting out and wants to finish the season out with his team.

“Hell no, come on. I’ve come this far, I’m gonna finish this thing off.”

He also talked about his knee and how it has been feeling over the past few weeks. In addition to that, he talked about whether he feels surgery will be needed during the offseason to fix the knee.

“I’m not sure at this point. I feel good. I’m able to move around the way I want. I have a little bit of soreness during the week, but that’s more related to playing on indoors on turf when we move inside to the Hutson Center for practice. I’ve been feeling pretty good. I don’t expect to need any cleanup.”

Even though Rodgers says that he feels normal, there have been obvious issues with his play. He has not been able to make throws that he normally makes, which may be due to the discomfort in his knee.

Rodgers has completed 61.8 percent of his pass attempts this season for 3,504 yards, 21 touchdowns, and just one interception. While his numbers may not be as big as fans have been used to seeing from him, Rodgers is still playing like one of the best quarterbacks in the game.

Expect to see the Packers continue allowing Rodgers to start as long as he wants to. Joe Philbin will bring some changes to the offense and it will be interesting to see how Rodgers and company responds to those changes.
