Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers feels like the entire team shares responsibility for the firing of former head coach Mike McCarthy.
Despite leading the Packers to nine playoff appearances in 13 seasons, McCarthy was let go following Green Bay's 20-17 home loss to the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday.
Rodgers, who also mentioned that he was surprised by the timing of McCarthy's firing, is of the opinion that the Packers roster takes some responsibility for the veteran coach's exit from the franchise.
Here's what Rodgers had to say on Monday, courtesy of NFL.com:

Obviously, coaches have responsibility to prepare, teach, and demand, but the players are on the field performing. Obviously our performance level wasn't sure that we could keep Mike [McCarthy] in his place.”
McCarthy guided the Packers to one Super Bowl trophy early on during his tenure but could never get the team back to that spot, despite having Rodgers under center.
And with the lack of success over the past few seasons, it seemed inevitable that the front office would move in a different direction at some point.
Now the key will be finding the right replacement for McCarthy.
This will be a huge decision for the franchise, especially considering the possibilities that are still on the table with Rodgers leading the way as one of the best quarterbacks to ever play the game.
