Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers is still completely focused on giving it his all for his team even with the playoffs officially out of reach.
Rodgers helped the Packers to a wild 44-38 overtime win over the New York Jets on Sunday, with the star quarterback hitting Davante Adams for the game-winning score with 6:23 left in the game.
Overall, it was yet another masterful performance from Rodgers, who finished 37 of 455 for 442 yards and two touchdowns through the air while also earning two scores on the ground.
And even with the Packers set to miss the postseason for a second straight year, it appears that there was never a doubt in Rodgers' mind that he would suit up down for these games down the stretch.
From Josh Alper of Pro Football Talk:

“That it matters,” Rodgers said. “That even when the record isn’t great and you’re not going to the playoffs, it still matters. That I have a lot of pride. I love competing in anything. Like I said on the field after the game, I don’t want to look back in 20 years and wonder what if I’d played in that game? Could something special have happened? What it would look like to my teammates if they knew I kind of quit on them? So, I hope my teammates know that I’m never going to quit on them? I’m about to give everything that I’ve got and they did the same.”
This approach to the game is why Rodgers will go down as of the best ever when he decides to call it quits.
While the postseason is always a top priority for the Packers, there's no doubt that Green Bay fans will continue to appreciate Rodgers' commitment to his teammates.
The Packers will finish up the season next Sunday against the Detroit Lions.
