Davante Adams posted 121 yards on 8 receptions Monday night for the Green Bay Packers in their 35-17 win over the Detroit Lions.
It looked much different for the Packers offense as a whole compared to their lackluster outing in Week 1 against the New Orleans Saints.
Per ProFootballTalk, the Packers' superstar wide receiver credited some of his play against the Lions to Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson. Yes, you read that correctly.
“I think I led the league or was second in YAC last year, so that was something I wanted to continue to improve upon,” Adams said. “I watched probably 25 minutes worth of Lamar Jackson highlights before the game. That’s not a joke, either. I’m being dead serious. I really did.”
“If he can do that I should be able to do half of what he’s doing out there as far as making people miss,” Adams said.
Adams is always finding ways to take his game to the next level with the Packers and watching film of Jackson is just the latest. The Ravens outlasted the Kansas City Chiefs 36-35 on Sunday Night Football in Week 2 and Jackson had all sorts of success running the ball and slicing up the Kansas City defense.
Green Bay will look to keep the good vibes going in Week 3 when they take on the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday Night Football. Adams, as always, will be a big part of the game plan for the Packers as they try to move to 2-1 on the season.
Packers fans will hope the numbers are per the usual but that Adams doesn't attempt the front flip celebration that Jackson did against the Chiefs.
