The Green Bay Packers are headed toward their second straight season missing the playoffs that has featured much disappointment despite star quarterback Aaron Rodgers being under center.
This has already brought forth change with head coach Mike McCarthy being fired by the team prior to the end of the season. There is much uncertainty around the rest of the team that led to one Packers fan to suggest trading Rodgers to which was quickly shut down by reporter Aaron Nagler of Cheesehead TV.
People. Trading Aaron Rodgers would set off a nuclear bomb in the Packers salary cap. The Packers have committed to Rodgers. He’s not going anywhere. https://t.co/xuECnAYEWH

There is a clear frustration with the shortcomings that the team has had this season especially with Rodgers being able to lead the charge under center. The Packers' inability to breakthrough has created more disappointment and a desire to see much change happen around the franchise to shake things up and put them back on the right track toward competing for the playoffs and the NFC North division title.

Keep in mind; the team had just inked him to a four-year, $134 million contract extension prior to the start of the season with $98.7 million guaranteed.
It wouldn't make much sense for them to change course on Rodgers especially given how crucial he has been them finding any level of success. In many ways, he has been the glue piece to the puzzle that has helped push them in the right direction while remaining competitive for the playoffs. This season has been impacted his dealings with a nagging MCL injury while the Packers have simply not gotten over the hump several of the games.
Ultimately, it is quite clear that Rodgers won't be going anywhere any time soon as he's arguably the primary piece of the puzzle to their future.
