On Sunday afternoon, the Green Bay Packers fell back out of first place in the NFC North with a tough road loss at the hands of the Denver Broncos. The major headline coming out of this game was the injuries that Green Bay sustained in the defeat, including most notably to star pass rusher Micah Parsons, who is feared to have torn his ACL in the loss.

After the game, frustrations were understandably running high in the Packers' locker room.

In fact, one of head coach Matt LaFleur's assistant coaches reportedly referred to the game as “a straight-up d— punch,” per Michael Silver of The Athletic.

Overall, Parsons has continued being one of the most dominant defensive players in the entire NFL landscape this year for the Packers, further validating the team's decision to trade for him from the Dallas Cowboys shortly before the season began.

Parsons has been a key member of what has been a vaunted Green Bay defensive unit all season long, but now that the team is facing the prospect of playing the remainder of the year without him in the lineup, it remains to be seen who LaFleur and company will turn to to try to mitigate that loss as much as possible.

The Packers still have a strong offensive unit this year, led by Jordan Love, who has played mostly good football so far this season, and a decent running game anchored by Josh Jacobs.

However, with Parsons out of the lineup, there figures to be a hard ceiling on just how far this Packers team can go once the playoffs roll around.

In any case, the Packers will next take the field on Saturday on the road for a big NFC North rematch against the Chicago Bears. That game will kick off at 8:20 pm ET.
