It looks like Aaron Rodgers' season is done.

According to Rob Demovsky of ESPN NFL Nation, Rodgers did not come out of the locker room to start the second half of the Green Bay Packers' game against the Detroit Lions on Sunday afternoon after heading to the locker room late in the first half for a concussion evaluation.

Instead, DeShone Kizer will be under center.

Rodgers threw just five passes in the first half, completing three of them for 26 yards.

That means Rodgers will end his 2018 campaign with 4,442 yards, 25 touchdowns and just two interceptions while completing 62.3 percent of his passes and registering a passer rating of 97.8.

It has not been an easy year for Rodgers, who has taken criticism from everyone. Former Packers players have taken shots at the 35-year-old, as well as writers and fans.

The backlash seems a bit unwarranted, as Rodgers has actually had a pretty good year. Maybe it has been underwhelming for his standards, but most other teams around the league would do anything to have a signal-caller that can throw for 25 touchdowns and two picks in a single season.

Of course, a lot of the criticism seems to be aimed at Rodgers' competence as a leader.

Long-time Packers head coach Mike McCarthy was fired at the beginning of the month, largely due to the fact that his relationship with Rodgers was souring.

Many have also questioned Rodgers' leadership ability with players in the locker room.

Green Bay entered Sunday with a record of 6-8-1 and will miss the playoffs in back-to-back years for the first time since 2006. Last year, the Packers won just seven games and missed the postseason, largely due to the fact that Rodgers missed most of the season with a broken collarbone.
