Green Bay Packers wide receiver Jake Kumerow had a fantastic preseason and looked like he could potentially be a legitimate contributor during the regular season for the Packers.

However, he injured his shoulder at the end of a touchdown in one of Green Bay's preseason games and was ultimately placed on the injured reserve list.

Kumerow was activated earlier this month, and on Sunday against the New York Jets, he scored the first touchdown of his career:

He remained with the Bengals through September 2017 but never actually played in a game.

Kumerow then signed with the New England Patriots in October 2017, but was waived a couple of weeks later. He then landed with the Packers last December and stuck.

Green Bay came into Sunday's action with a record of 5-8-1. The Packers were eliminated from playoff contention with their loss to the Chicago Bears last weekend, and to add insult to injury, they had to watch the Bears celebrate an NFC North division title.

This marks the first time since 2006 that the Packers will miss the playoffs in back-to-back years. Last season, Green Bay won just seven games and missed the postseason, largely due to the fact that quarterback Aaron Rodgers missed most of the year with a broken collarbone.
