The Houston Texans are set to hit the road for a star-studded matchup with the Baltimore Ravens in Week 11. It appears they are looking to bolster their running back rotation before that game.

According to Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle, the Texans worked out running backs Jeremy Hill and Elijah McGuire:

Texans' Tuesday workout includes running backs Jeremy Hill and Elijah McGuire, according to league sources. Hill workout went very well, not being signed immediately, though

Hill spent the bulk of his career with the Cincinnati Bengals after being taken in the second round of the 2014 NFL Draft. He emerged as the starter while part of a tandem in the backfield with Giovani Bernard, however, their 1-2 punch was eventually replaced by a workhorse in Joe Mixon.

Following his time with the Bengals, Hill had a stint with the New England Patriots in the 2018 campaign and it came to an end after he suffered a torn ACL in the season opener.

McGuire is also coming off an injury-plagued season with the New York Jets. He was released by the Jets this offseason and picked up by the Cleveland Browns before ultimately being waived again.

The Texans have largely relied on Carlos Hyde to do most of their bidding in the backfield while Duke Johnson serves as a complementary option. This duo has helped establish the fourth-best rushing attack in the league thus far with 142.8 yards per game.

Given's Johnson's prowess as a weapon in the passing game, perhaps they are looking for another running back to help out Hyde with the early-down work.
