Houston Texans defensive end J.J. Watt now has the most multi-sack games in the NFL since the year 2011.

Per the Texans PR:

“Defensive end JJ Watt has recorded 2.0 sacks vs. the New York Jets, which marks the 24th multi-sack game of his career. That’s the most multi-sack games in the NFL since 2011 and the second-most in NFL history through 102 career games.”

The NFL Media Research Department on Twitter also confirmed this:

Watt has been the face of the Texans franchise ever since they drafted him in the 2011 NFL Draft, 11th overall. He's had three seasons with over 17 sacks and two with over 20 sacks. He's one of the NFL's most feared edge rushers, even though he is nearing his age 30 season. 2012-2015 he's had at least 75 tackles and 20 tackles for loss every season.

In 2016 and 2017 Watt suffered injury that set him back for the entirety of those seasons.  He sustained a tibial plateau fracture in his left leg vs. the Kansas City Chiefs on Oct. 8. Watt had clipped his left foot against his right ankle and then fell forward onto his left foot, sending his momentum through his femur into the top of his lower leg bone. It was a terrible injury that Watt was able to overcome this season.

The Texans this season are now 10-4 concluding their 29-22 win in Saturday’s game against the Jets. Coach Bill O’Brien has led the team to first overall in the AFC West Division. After losing their first three games, the Texans went on an unprecedented 9-game winning streak. They average 24.8 points scored per game, ranking 11th in the NFL. They only allow 19.8 points per game, making them the 5th most potent defense in the NFL.

The Texans face off in Philadelphia in Week 16 against the Eagles to continue to fight for their playoff and divisional position.
