The NFL regular season hasn't been altered due to the coronavirus yet, with the first game of the season not coming until September 10. In the event that the season is impacted, Houston Texans safety Justin Reid already has a backup plan in place.

The Texans drafted Reid out of Stanford in the third round of the 2018 NFL Draft. While he played football in college, Reid was working toward getting a degree. But of course, with the NFL as an option, Reid was unable to complete his college degree.

At the same time, there's a chance that it isn't wise to pack thousands of fans into NFL stadiums yet. Similar to the other leagues, the NFL could be forced to postpone the start of their season.

In his rookie campaign with the Texans, Reid was able to notch 88 tackles, 10 pass breakups, and three interceptions. The Stanford product would build on that by tallying 78 tackles, five deflections, and two interceptions in 2019.

Over his first two seasons, Reid has become a cornerstone in Houston's secondary. But if he's unable to play football in 2020, he is prepared to finish something that he started during his time at Stanford.
