While the Texans will land Cannon, Houston and New England will swap draft picks in the fourth, fifth, and sixth rounds in the 2021 NFL Draft. It remains to be seen if the Texans keep Cannon at offensive tackle or if they decide to move him to guard in the upcoming season.
Earlier this month, the Patriots elected to make a move to acquire Trent Brown from the Las Vegas Raiders for a late-round draft pick. Brown won a Super Bowl with New England in his lone year with the team in 2018, which netted him a massive deal in free agency with the Raiders.

Cannon kickstarted his career as a fifth-round selection by New England in the 2011 NFL Draft. The veteran out of TCU has spent the past five seasons as the starting right tackle, where he started in 28 games in the past two seasons.
The first trade that Houston conducted on Sunday was a trade that swapped Bernadrick McKinney and Shaq Lawson from the Miami Dolphins. Now, the Texans are attempting to make a move that could bolster their offensive line, regardless of who is under center in the future.
