The 2-2 Indianapolis Colts are currently gearing up to take on the 4-0 Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday evening at Arrowhead Stadium. With the Colts attempting to keep up with the pack in the back-and-forth AFC South division, a group that is now being led by the 3-2 Houston Texans with the 2-3 Tennessee Titans and 2-3 Jacksonville Jaguars not too far behind.

With Indianapolis obviously facing quite a daunting task on national television with the surging Chiefs welcoming the Colts to the always intimidating Arrowhead Stadium, the AFC South franchise will certainly need to pull out all the stops in Week 5. Most definitely possessing the ability to win on the road in Kansas City, the Colts will unfortunately need to turn in a near perfect game in order to do so.

With the aforementioned Texans already beating the lowly Atlanta Falcons on Sunday afternoon, the Colts can takeover a share of the AFC South lead with an upset win on the road against the Chiefs.

Marlon Mack

The Indianapolis Colts will no doubt need to lean on starting running back Marlon Mack in order to defeat the currently undefeated Kansas City Chiefs. While this is typically the case as Colts starting quarterback Jacoby Brissett is not exactly a gunslinger, Mack will need to be at his best on Sunday night if Indianapolis is going pull off the upset.

Not only can Mack really get downhill when he gets going en route to rattling off some lengthy rushing attempts, but he can also help Indianapolis slow the ball down while keeping the offense on the field. If the Colts offense can take pressure off of the team's defense against Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes and company, that would certainly start with an effective rushing attack — led by Mack, of course.

If the Colts offense is on the field, that means that the Chiefs offense — and especially Mahomes — is on the sideline.

Justin Houston

Former Kansas City Chiefs pass rusher Justin Houston will be returning to Arrowhead Stadium for the first time as a visiting player on Sunday evening. With the Chiefs parting ways with Houston this offseason after the longtime NFL sack man previously spent his entire professional tenure in Kansas City, Houston will surely be out for some revenge against his former team.

Although a veteran player at this point in his career, Houston still has the ability to get after the quarterback — and in a big way at that. If Houston and his new Colts teammates are going to upend Kansas City in primetime, the former Chiefs disrupter will need to do just that as the Indianapolis pass rush will be the most vital piece of the puzzle for the AFC South franchise in Week 5.

Trap Game

The Kansas City Chiefs are a perfect 4-0 on the season. However, Kansas City's last two wins have come against legitimate opponents, which means that both games were pretty close as the Chiefs were in danger of losing both contests.

Most recently defeating the Detroit Lions by the score of 34-30 on the road in the “Motor City,” the Chiefs had first edged the dangerous Baltimore Ravens by the score of 33-28 back in Week 3. Not only that, but the Chiefs will take on the first-place Houston Texans, rival Denver Broncos and very impressive Green Bay Packers as a result of the team's next three matchups.

With that in mind, could Sunday evening's matchup against the Colts become a trap game for the Chiefs? Could the Chiefs already be looking ahead, especially after recently coming away unscathed against the aforementioned Lions and Ravens? Only time will tell…

Playing The Odds

Are the Kansas City Chiefs going to finish the 2019-20 regular season at a perfect 16-0? With only two NFL franchises ever pulling off such a feat in the 100-year history of the league, the odds are certainly against this occurring. Because is is highly unlikely that the Chiefs will remain perfect, especially amid some serious injuries to some key players, perhaps it will be the Indianapolis Colts that take down the first-place AFC West franchise…

Even with the Colts serving as a legitimate threat, Indianapolis — under the direction of quarterback Jacoby Brissett and not Andrew Luck — does not figure to beat the Chiefs. However, such teams are often the ones that go unnoticed or overlooked en route to pulling off an upset in a major way.

It is entirely possible that the Colts become one of those teams in Week 5 against the Chiefs.
