Indianapolis Colts cornerback Isaiah Rodgers is out of breath with little to show for it in the AFC Wild Card game against the Buffalo Bills. Working against wide receiver John Brown in man-t0-man coverage in the endzone, Rodgers dove to the ground, hoping to pick off an errant pass from quarterback Josh Allen. While he successfully ensured that Brown could not reel in the touchdown for himself, the cornerback could not secure the ball for a catch, as he merely trapped it between the ground and his body upon further review.

The problem for Rodgers is that he was seemingly unaware of this at the moment and proceeded to bolt over 100 yards towards the opposite side of the field for what he believed was a pick-six. It's unlikely that Rodgers will be thanking the refs for this call anytime soon.

To make matters worse for Rodgers and the Colts, the Bills promptly used the opportunity to score an actual touchdown on the next play, thanks to a nifty quarterback keep by Allen.

Faking a handoff to the running back, Allen immediately sprinted out around the offensive line before reversing direction with an inside route towards the endzone. Dragging a defender draped across his back over the goal line, Allen and the Bills regained the lead over the Colts heading into halftime.

Since the score, the Bills have added a field goal and another touchdown to their advantage to give themselves a 14-point advantage in the final frame. Needless to say, Isaiah Rodgers and the Colts will be thinking about what could have been long after this one comes to an end.
