It's been a rough year for Adam Vinatieri.
The Indianapolis Colts kicker has made just 12 of his 17 field-goal attempts on the season and has even missed five extra points.
Last week, Vinatieri missed a potential game-winning 43-yard kick against the Pittsburgh Steelers, but the veteran isn't sweating it and seems prepared for the Colts' matchup with the Miami Dolphins on Sunday:
“Just go out and practice and work on your craft, you know?” Vinatieri said Thursday, according to Andrew Walker of the Colts' team website. “Not think about too much of the other stuff. We’ve got a lot of football left, and just try to go and watch film and see what we can improve on, go back out there and do it.”
The 46-year-old has made three Pro Bowls while also earning three First-Team All-Pro selections in his career and is known as the most clutch kicker in NFL history, so his recent struggles are uncharted territory for the future Hall-of-Famer.

“I think all of us go one game at a time,” Vinatieri said. “You can’t look too far in the future or too far behind you; you go through the game film this last week [and] like coach would say, you put it to bed — you watch the film, you correct stuff and you go back to work. So for me last week, last month, last whatever — year — is behind me, and just moving forward.”
To be fair to Vinatieri, the snap was bad on his missed field goal in Week 9, and the hold wasn't the best, either. However, that doesn't detract from his plethora of unusual miscues prior to last week's miss.
We'll see if the legend can bounce back in Week 10.
