The start of the 2017 NFL season for the Indianapolis Colts could be a forgettable one with superstar quarterback Andrew Luck ruled out for Week 1.
According to Andrew Walker of Colts.com, Luck will be watching from the sidelines against the Los Angeles Rams, and there's been no timetable set for his return to the gridiron.

Luck's health has been in question for quite some time now. The Stanford product underwent shoulder surgery on his throwing arm back in January and hasn't practiced since that time.
This has been concerning for a team that needs his presence under center to have any chance of competing for a playoff spot in the AFC during the 2017 campaign. Although missing Week 1 isn't incredibly costly, especially as they go up against the rebuilding Rams, having no timetable for his return is a bad sign for Indianapolis.
While Luck continues to recover from offseason surgery, the team will move forward with Scott Tolzien as their starter to start the season. Fortunately, the team addressed depth at the position with all the question marks about Luck's status by trading for Jacoby Brissett formerly of the New England Patriots.
Following the season opener against the Rams at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum, the Colts will head back to Lucas Oil Stadium for a two-game homestand against the Arizona Cardinals and Cleveland Browns. Luck's status will continue to be a hot topic of discussion and may determine the outcome of the team's season this year.
