Indianapolis Colts quarterback Andrew Luck is dealing with a calf injury, but he says he is not at extra risk to suffer some type of Achillies injury because of it. Kevin Durant was dealing with a similar calf injury during the NBA Finals when he came back and ended up rupturing his Achilles. That has put some extra worry in the minds of Colts fans if the same thing could happen to their franchise quarterback.

Luck made it clear that the tests haven't shown any tears or swelling and there isn't any extra risk in playing, but he is trying to be extra cautious.

“I did not improve, feeling-wise, pain-wise, and this is something I vowed to myself after going thru 2016 and 2017, that I would be honest to myself,” Luck said, via Zak Keefer of TheAthletic.com.

Luck said he expects he will be ready to start the season, but it would be concerning if he was still feeling any type of pain when the season started.

Colts coach Frank Reich said on Sunday that if it was a big game coming up, Luck would be ready to go, but they are just trying to be cautious with the rehab.

All signs point towards everything being okay, but with how Luck has come back from injuries in the past there seem to be extra reasons to be concerned and every missed practice is going to cause more eyebrows to raise. Hopefully, Luck and Reich are right and he will be out on the field Week 1.
