The state of Indiana has found its new stars. It used to be Peyton Manning and Reggie Miller among other college stars like Larry Bird and Ray Ewry that had the Hoosier State all riled up. Now, Caitlin Clark, Tyrese Haliburton, and Anthony Richardson are raising the banner of this sports-crazed Midwestern culture. The Indianapolis Colts quarterback, in particular, knows that he has big shoes to fill.
Anthony Richardson, not a star yet

Indianapolis always has a loyal fanbase. They are willing to root for their team regardless of how much they are the underdogs in the matchup. It was very evident with how they filled Gainbridge Fieldhouse despite the Boston Celtics' expected series win over the Indiana Pacers. The same situation happens when the Indiana Fever plays but rarely comes across wins. A fanbase that is insane when it comes to their support can surely be daunting. However, Anthony Richardson posits that, while this is true, he is focusing on his own rise to stardom, via The Pat McAfee Show.
“I mean, they’re stars, I’m on the up and up right now,” the Colts quarterback said.
Anthony Richardson is slated to make a return as the Colts' signal-caller next season. He was only able to play and start in four games before he went down with an AC joint sprain. Eventually, his shoulder had to undergo season-ending surgery which deprived him of the opportunity to build a better rookie campaign.
Nonetheless, this young signal caller still threw for 577 passing yards with a 59.5% completion percentage. His passes notches him an insane 11.5 yards per completion which makes for an automatic first down every time he has a clear path to a playmaker. A point of improvement that he could make is sharpening his lethality in the end zone. He was just able to get three touchdowns in that small span of time which clocked in at 3.6% when he was trying to march down the field for six points.
Indiana is more than happy to have a third star to root for and it looks like the Colts might be the home to the next glimmer of hope.
Colts QB could've been easily part of the Pacers?
Above anything else, basketball is the number one sport in Indiana. The only days where the populace doesn't celebrate a ball finding its way through a hoop and laces are when the Colts play postseason games and the Indianapolis 500. Richardson posits that he can hang with the cream of the crop when it comes to the floor. His confidence level? Well, it sounds like Caitlin Clark and Tyrese Haliburton might just be given a run for their money if he gets the opportunity.
“Oh man I could definitely be in the NBA,” he exclaimed.
The Colts quarterback says that he could average as much as 11 points a night. If ever Tyrese Haliburton needs a new teammate or Caitlin Clark wants a new opponent, they can definitely rely on this guy. He also claims to play locked-in defense which might make someone shake in their boots just by the sound of what he calls it.
