It has been quite some time since former NFL quarterback Brett Favre suited up atop the highest level. A Green Bay Packers legend who also played for the Atlanta Falcons, New York Jets and Minnesota Vikings, it appears as though the aging Favre almost became a member of the Indianapolis Colts as well — sort of, anyway.

After former Colts starting quarterback Andrew Luck abruptly retired just before the start of the 2019-20 regular season, Favre received some feedback from his friends and family regarding an NFL comeback at the soon-to-be age of 50.

“No teams called,” Favre recently told TMZ Sports, “but I had a lot of friends and family, you know, ‘Hey, the Colts could use ya!'”

However, Favre himself was quick to put an end to such comments.

“No, they couldn't use me,” Favre said. “I squashed that very quickly.”

The 49-year-old legend last played in a regulation NFL game back in 2010 as a member of the aforementioned Vikings.

“It's really comical at this point because, look, I'll be 50 in three or four weeks,” he recently added. “And, I've been far enough removed from football that I can't even believe people would think that I would consider coming back.”

Throughout his NFL playing career, a tenure that spanned nearly 20 years, Favre notably threw for over 70,000 yards alongside 508 touchdown passes and 336 interceptions. Favre appeared in a total of 302 regular-season games with the majority of those outings coming as a member of the heralded Packers.
