Nobody is quite certain that quarterback Jacoby Brissett will start for the Indianapolis Colts in Week 10 versus the Miami Dolphins. The quarterback is dealing with an MCL sprain suffered in Week 9's loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Luckily, Indianapolis got an excellent sign on Wednesday: Brissett was a limited participant in practice. While that does not give a guarantee that he will play on Sunday, it's a positive development nonetheless. Head coach Frank Reich can attest to that.

Yeah, I’m pretty encouraged,” Reich said, via Andrew Walker of the team website. “I mean, I kind of thought he was going to be able to based on how he said he felt the other day. I still don’t think anything’s a slam dunk… We just have to let it play out, because I just know it’s one thing — probably anybody who’s played this game has had this injury — and you think you feel good, but you actually have to get out there and test it out. So we’ll see how it goes during the week.”

The Colts aren't likely in the business of rushing their starter back, particularly against a hapless Dolphins squad. However, if they can get him back, they will. If not, backup Brian Hoyer will get the start and Chad Kelly will be elevated from the practice squad. Last week, Hoyer tossed for three touchdowns and 168 yards while also throwing an interception.

On the season, Brissett has thrown for 1,649 yards, 14 touchdowns and three interceptions on a 99.7 passer rating. He has his Colts squad in the thick of a tight AFC South race alongside the Houston Texans.
