Indianapolis Colts pass rusher Kemoko Turay will miss the rest of the season after suffering a broken ankle during his team's win over the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday night, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.
Turay sustained the injury in the fourth quarter and had to be carted off of the field. He logged a couple of tackles, a half of a sack, and three quarterback hits in the victory.
On the season overall, Turay has totaled five tackles, 1.5 sacks, and a forced fumble.
The 24-year-old, who played his collegiate football at Rutgers, was originally selected by the Colts in the second round (52nd pick overall) of the 2018 NFL Draft.
He played in 14 games during his rookie campaign, finishing with 15 tackles, four sacks, and a forced fumble in limited action.
Article Continues BelowTuray arrived at Rutgers in 2014 and started his NCAA career off with a bang, registering 24 tackles, eight tackles for loss, and 7.5 sacks during his freshman season.
He then played only scarcely in his sophomore and junior years, accumulating 12 tackles and four sacks over those two seasons, but he earned more playing time during his senior campaign, posting 60 tackles, six tackles for loss, three sacks, and a pair of fumble recoveries.
Indianapolis put forth a terrific defensive performance on Sunday evening, holding the Chiefs to just 13 points, marking Kansas City's lowest scoring output since November 2017.
The Colts improved to 3-2 with the win and will now head into their bye week before hosting the Houston Texans in an AFC South showdown on Oct. 20.
