The Indianapolis Colts are set to enter a new chapter with Matt Ryan under center as the starting quarterback. After Carson Wentz's stint in Indy ended in disaster, the Colts offloaded him to the Commanders and replaced him with Ryan this offseason. Colts legend Reggie Wayne is fired up over the addition of Ryan and even dropped an absurd comparison between the new Indy QB and franchise hero Peyton Manning, via Larra Overton.
When I asked WR coach @ReggieWayne_17 what makes @M_Ryan02 the type of QB he would have liked to play with:
“Man, it makes me almost wanna throw up because he reminds of Peyton so much” (with a laugh)#Colts

“Man, it makes me almost wanna throw up because [Ryan] reminds me of Peyton [Manning] so much,” Wayne said when asked what makes Ryan the type of QB he'd want to play with.
That's some staggering praise to dump on Ryan, considering just how dominant Manning was throughout his career. Still, Wayne seems to like what he's seen from Ryan throughout his career and apparently sees a lot of Manning in the Colts' newest star. Colts fans will certainly love to hear that type of bold comparison dropped from Wayne, who is now a wide receivers coach for the team.
Wayne and Manning played alongside one another from 2001-10. The duo, as well as Marvin Harrison and Edgerrin James, were the focal points of one of the greatest offenses in NFL history. During their tenure together, the pair won one Super Bowl and made nine playoff appearances. Wayne racked up 787 receptions, 10,748 receiving yards, and 69 touchdown catches during that span.
While fans might want to temper expectations a bit, relative to Wayne's comments, it's certainly encouraging to hear Ryan getting high praise from those within the organization.
