The Indianapolis Colts already saw Philip Rivers re-warming up his arm. But Riley Leonard went through throwing sessions too on Wednesday.

ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter helped reveal Leonard's status amid his own ailment.

“Colts listed QB Riley Leonard, who has a strained knee ligament, as a full participant in today’s practice. It looks as if the Colts need him Sunday at Seattle, he would be available,” Schefter posted on the social media website X, formerly Twitter.

Shane Steichen already hinted that the 44-year-old Rivers will earn the start over the injured Leonard. But now Leonard could provide some needed QB depth ahead of the huge Sunday showdown against Seattle.

The past Pro Bowl QB has his “get off the couch” moment.

Rivers is trending towards starting against the Seahawks amid a playoff push from both teams. Starter Daniel Jones is out after tearing his Achilles against the Jacksonville Jaguars Sunday.

Jones even played at a Most Valuable Player level and had the Colts pushing for the AFC South title. But Indy needed to make a call to Rivers amid QB depth concerns.

Indianapolis features an oft-injured QB room — with Jones bringing a litany of injuries from his New York Giants days. Former first rounder Anthony Richardson is another who's received his own ailments. Richardson even lost his QB1 spot to the former top 10 pick Jones.

Now the Colts are turning to a familiar face, but one who hasn't thrown an NFL pass since the 2020 season.
