One week hasn't even passed since the NFL opened its doors for the 2019 season, but Indianapolis Colts safety Malik Hooker may have already shown us the pick of the year.
The Los Angeles Chargers were ahead of the Colts in their Week 1 clash. The secondary was cornered deep in their own end zone. The Chargers were one pass away from putting up a two-score lead and making the game difficult for the Colts.
And that's when Hooker live up to his surname and hooked the ball away.

It was a fantastic one-handed pick that helped keep the game at a manageable margin. The pick also gave the Colts some much-needed energy: it's impossible that the pick didn't pump his teammates up.
Hooker was drafted 15th overall by the Colts in 2017 and played 20 football games. While he hasn't played that many games, he has put up great numbers. Last season alone, he had two interceptions for 34 yards, made one fumble recovery, and made 65 tackles in 14 starts.
Article Continues BelowHe has already impressed Colts fans with his defensive play. However, the most impressive part about all of this is that he played these games without being in the best of shape.
Last season, he missed two games due to injuries. Moreover, the nature of his injuries is enough to make anyone flinch. The fact that he can perform at this level after surgeries on his knee and hip is a testament to his skill as a football player.
If Hooker manages to keep himself healthy throughout the season, it's easy to see him getting a Pro Bowl nod.
Everyone loves a flashy interception when they see one.
