There is a lot of noise surrounding Jalen Ramsey at the moment. His trade demand has now seen every move made by the corner is magnified by the fans.
His latest absence from the team is seen by some as his negotiation tactic to get out of the team. However, it was clarified that he's not deliberately missing time just to get his wish.
NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports (per Kevin Patra of NFL.com) that the 24-year-old corner is expected to be back with the team immediately after recovering from his injuries. However, there's no clue whether he'll get loads of playing time.
How much work Ramsey will get in this week is unknown. Amid his trade request, Ramsey is banged up, Rapoport noted, and has been receiving treatment for issues related to his lower back and hamstrings.
He reported sick on Monday and missed team practice. The Jags had Tuesday off, so there's hope that he'll be able to return to the team on time.
However, Patra reminds hopeful Jaguars fans that the issue's far from over.
In addition to the flu, his back, and hamstrings, Ramsey is also dealing with a serious case of “I don't want to work here anymore,” which is a nagging disorder that's tough to cure.
It's understandable why they're hesitant to let go of the two-time Pro Bowler. He's managed nine interceptions and 211 tackles in his 51 games with the Jaguars.
However, it's hard to convince someone who doesn't want to be there to stay. Some consider Ramsey as the manifestation of what's wrong with the NFL.
It remains to be seen if Ramsey will get his way. If he calls in sick enough times, there's no reason why he can't force the Jaguars to ship him off.
