Leonard Fournette is unlikely to make his return this week after all. The Jacksonville Jaguars’ star running back is not expected to play Sunday against the Tennessee Titans, per Adam Schefter of ESPN.

Schefter previously reported that Fournette, who was listed as questionable on this week’s injury report due to a hamstring injury, was likely to make his way back after missing last week’s matchup against the New England Patriots.

However, the Jaguars have apparently decided to play it safe with their young star and not bring him back just yet.

The Jaguars' decision to hold Fournette's return back by at least another week seems like a sensible decision. Hamstring injuries are notoriously tricky, and returning too quickly would bring the risk of aggravating the injury. The Jaguars have plans to go deep into the postseason this year, so it doesn’t make much sense to gamble on their star’s health so early in the season.

And as the Jaguars proved last week against the New England Patriots, they can still win without Fournette. Blake Bortles had a strong game in Fournette’s absence as he had 376 passing yards and four touchdowns to lead the Jags to a big 31-20 win.

With Fournette sidelined one more game, T.J. Yeldon will once again get the start for the Jaguars. Yeldon, who has been dealing with an ankle injury, had 58 yards on 10 carries last week against the Patriots. He and Corey Grant will get the majority of the touches in the backfield in Fournette’s continued absence.
