The Jacksonville Jaguars took a big hit to their quarterback rotation after Nick Foles broke his collarbone during their season opener. However, he's now close to making a return to the Jaguars lineup. The team coaches think that he will be back on the team by the start of next week.

According to Pro Football Talk's Josh Alper, the Super Bowl LII winner's recovery is looking great so far. Head coach Doug Marrone thinks that he could participate in team practice by Wednesday if he manages to recover on time. His imminent return will be a great boon to a Jaguars side that is struggling for consistency.

However, it will take a while before the team actually manages to use him again in game-time situations. He's been placed on the injured reserve after breaking his collarbone. Before he can return to the active roster, he has to spend eight weeks out of the team. Since the team has a bye week in Week 10, he will only be eligible to play by Week 11.

The Jaguars wouldn't mind it as long as he gets to return to the team. This also means that he will be in great condition once he gets tapped to play against the Indianapolis Colts.

The question now is whether the Jaguars will actually let Foles start in Week 11, though. Gardner Minshew has been a revelation for the Jaguars with his great play and infectious personality. Moreover, he has room to grow at only 23 years old.

This is a great problem for Marrone to have, though. If things go well, Foles and Minshew can become the cornerstone that will lift the Jaguars in the second half of the season.
