Jacksonville Jaguars star running back Leonard Fournette is expected to return from his recent hamstring issues after their bye next week, per Adam Schefter of ESPN.
The Jaguars will face the Indianapolis Colts in Week 10, and barring any unforeseen setback, Fournette will be available for that matchup.
Fournette has played just two halves of football this season after suffering a hamstring strain back in Week 1. He attempted to return in Week 4, but he re-aggravated the injury and has missed the team’s last four games. Due to those injuries, he has been limited to just 71 yards rushing and four catches for 19 yards this season.
Article Continues BelowThe Jaguars’ season has completely fallen off a cliff during Fournette’s absence. They’ve dropped to 3-5 after falling to the Philadelphia Eagles in London on Sunday, which is their fourth defeat in a row.
Their running game was wildly ineffective once again. Carlos Hyde, who made his debut after his acquisition from the Cleveland Browns, and T.J. Yeldon, combined for just 18 yards on eight carries against the Eagles. Although, Yeldon was the team's leading receiver in the game with seven catches for 83 yards. Jaguars running backs have garnered just 50 yards on 22 carries over the last two weeks.
It remains to be seen what sort of form Fournette will be in upon his return. But chances are he’s not going to be close to 100 percent yet against the Colts. He will most likely split the workload with Hyde and Yeldon as he works his way back from that significant layoff.
